The projects listed below are a subset of Volunteer-In-Mission (VIM) projects currently being coordinated through the Methodist Rural Center. Staff at the Methodist Rural Center will work with you to determine the best project for your team based on team size, team skills, resources for materials, and need.

Education Building at the Methodist Rural Center in Ciudad Quasada

Finish construction of the Education Building at the Methodist Rural Center.  The Educational Building will be used by groups staying at the center as well as group training for area local pastors and lay leaders.  The building will be wired for groups to participate in live streaming of training, seminars and other broadcasts.


Covered Activity Court at the Methodist Rural Center in Ciudad Quasada

Construction of a roof over the existing multi-purpose sports court which was initially built 30 years ago.  This will allow year around use of the court areas by groups staying at the center in addition to the local area children.  When completed there will be 6,500 square feet of court area under the roof.

New Parsonage in Santa Rosa de la Palmera

Construction of a new parsonage at the church in Santa Rosa de la Palmera to replace the current parsonage which is inadequate for Pastor Alejandro’s family.  This will also allow the old parsonage to be repurposed to provided much needed educational classroom space.

Complete Church Construction in Pital

Completing work at the church including removing windows/doors no longer needed after the sanctuary was expanded, re-plastering and painting the exterior of the sanctuary, installation of flooring in the pulpit area, and general repairs around the church.

Repairs / Painting for the Church in Santa Fe de Aguas Zarcas

Clean-up, repairs and painting of parsonage, worship space and multi-purpose meeting space to allow a church re-start to meet community needs.

Church Expansion in La Fortuna

Construction of a second floor on the existing parsonage building.  The second floor will serve as the new parsonage and the first floor will be converted into Christian education and small group meeting space for this rapidly growing church.
